Why Onelab
A reliable laboratory throughout Finland
Asbestos survey or asbestos analysis - which one in Kuopio?
An actual asbestos survey means a surveyor visiting the site: the structures are gone through systematically and samples are taken of every suspect material. In Kuopio and elsewhere in Northern Savonia, however, arranging a surveyor visit is often slow and expensive because of the long distances. If your renovation concerns one or a few materials - the tile adhesive in the bathroom, say, or the vinyl flooring in the kitchen - an asbestos sample sent by post gives the same laboratory certainty with no visit and no waiting.
What a posted sample covers - and what it does not
A material sample tells you reliably whether the material examined contains asbestos. It is enough for most surface renovations in Kuopio where the structure to be demolished is known in advance. A large pipe renovation or the demolition of an entire building instead calls for a full survey, in which a specialist also identifies hidden asbestos structures. When the situation is unclear it pays to start with one sample: the result guides whether a wider investigation is needed.
