The instrument separates asbestos fibres from other mineral fibres on the basis of elemental composition, which matters for example in fillers that also contain additives resembling asbestos.
What the answer tells you
The answer shows whether the sample contains asbestos and which type of asbestos it is. The result concerns exactly the material the sample was taken from - another structure in the same apartment may differ. That is why it pays to send several samples in one shipment when the renovation involves several materials. The binding limit value of 0.01 fibres/cm³ has applied to all asbestos work since 21 December 2025, which adds weight to a documented result.
