Asbestos analysis
Asbestos analysis Helsinki
Samples arriving from Helsinki are examined with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope, which identifies the fibres to the precision required by the ISO 22262-1 standard and EU Directive 2023/2668. The method is built around the reliable separation of fibre types, and the answer is delivered on the day the sample arrives.

Why Onelab
A reliable laboratory throughout Finland
A JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope identifies the fibres
At our laboratory in Espoo samples are examined with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope. The electron microscope makes individual fibres visible, and EDS elemental analysis measures their composition. Identification therefore rests not on the appearance of the fibre but on measured mineral composition, exactly as the ISO 22262-1 standard requires. A sample arriving from Helsinki is logged and analysed as a rule on the day it reaches us.
The result for housing company and contractor records
In Helsinki housing company projects the analysis result is usually attached to the project plan before the tendering stage. A positive result means the material must be removed as asbestos removal work by an authorised contractor. A negative result is just as valuable: it is documented proof that demolition work can begin without special procedures. The answer arrives in writing by email.
