Step by step
Packing step by step
Put the sample in a minigrip bag
Put on gloves and place the sample straight into a sealable minigrip bag. Make sure the bag closes properly.
Label the bag
Write the sample material and location clearly on the bag (e.g. "bathroom wall, mortar").
Make a separate bag for each sample
If you have several samples, each one must have its own separate bag with its own markings.
Pack in outer packaging
Wrap the bags in bubble wrap or tissue paper, then put them in a cardboard box or a sturdy envelope. Tape it shut.
Mark the outer packaging
Write or attach the address. Mark the package: "Asbestos sample - laboratory".
