Asbestos sample by post
Asbestos sample Lahti
In Lahti, at the heart of Päijät-Häme, many apartment blocks and terraced houses from the 1960s to the 1980s hide building materials whose asbestos content can only be settled in a laboratory. Detach a small piece of the suspect material, seal it in an airtight bag and post it to Onelab - no surveyor visit is needed.

Sampling points in a Lahti property
The housing stock of Lahti consists mainly of 1950s-1980s apartment blocks and terraced houses plus an extensive area of detached houses. There asbestos most often hides in the adhesive under the floor tile, in the substrate of the vinyl flooring, in the wall filler and in the pipe insulation. In a property completed before 1994 these are the first places worth sampling.
When to post the sample
Post the sample preferably early in the week, so it does not sit in sorting over the weekend. The laboratory processes samples on business days, and a sample analysed on its day of arrival produces an answer the same day. A letter posted on Friday in practice arrives only on Monday.
