Asbestos sample by post
Asbestos sample Imatra
Imatra's industrial heritage shows in a dense housing stock whose coatings and grouts from the 1960s and 1970s may hide asbestos. You take the sample piece from the renovation spot yourself and pack it in an envelope - the post carries it from Imatra to Onelab's laboratory with no separate visit.

Asbestos locations in the Imatra building stock
The housing stock of Imatra was built around the power plant and forest industry mainly during the 1950s-1970s. In these properties the typical findings are the adhesive under the floor tile, the substrate of the vinyl flooring, the wall filler and the pipe insulation. In industrial properties, boiler and pipe insulation dominate.
Letter or parcel
A tightly bagged asbestos sample travels as an ordinary letter, and no parcel shipment or special markings are needed. Several bags fit in one envelope. A parcel is only necessary if the sample is exceptionally large - which it rarely is, because a piece a centimetre across is enough.
