Why Onelab
A reliable laboratory throughout Finland
Asbestos locations in the Tornio building stock
The housing stock of Tornio was built mainly during the 1950s-1980s around the steel industry and cross-border trade. In residential properties asbestos is found in floor adhesives, in the substrate of vinyl flooring, in fillers and in tile adhesives. In industrial and warehouse properties, insulation materials and facade and roof sheets are common.
A sample from an industrial property
In industrial and warehouse properties the suspect material is often insulation or a sheet material that releases dust readily. Dampen the surface, wear a respirator and detach the piece at the edge. Also mark the intended use of the space on the bag, because it helps to understand what the material is.
