Asbestos analysis
Asbestos analysis Porvoo
In our laboratory, samples arriving from Porvoo are analysed with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope in accordance with the ISO 22262-1 standard and EU Directive 2023/2668. Samples examined on the day they arrive give their results the same day, so the renovation is not held up needlessly.

Why Onelab
A reliable laboratory throughout Finland
Analysis of layered samples
From the old properties of Porvoo come samples with several repair layers stacked on top of each other. The analysis instrument is a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope and the guideline is the ISO 22262-1 standard. If the sample contains several structural layers, they can be separated in the analysis, so the result shows which layer contains asbestos. That is useful in an old building stock with a long repair history.
The result and protected properties
A positive result means asbestos removal work by an authorised contractor. In protected or culturally valuable properties this is worth taking into account already at the design stage, because sectioning off and negative pressure affect how the work is carried out. A negative result gives documented clearance to proceed normally.
