We examine every sample arriving from Rauma with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope in accordance with the ISO 22262-1 standard, which identifies the fibres far more precisely than a light microscope. The method meets the requirements of EU Directive 2023/2668, and results are ready on the day of arrival.

Why Onelab
A reliable laboratory throughout Finland
Analysis of layered samples
From the properties of Old Rauma come samples with many floor layers stacked on top of each other. The work proceeds according to the ISO 22262-1 standard with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope. If the sample contains several structural layers, they can be separated in the analysis, so the result shows which layer contains asbestos. That is essential in an old building repaired many times over.
The result in a protected property
A positive result requires asbestos removal work by an authorised contractor. In a protected property this is worth taking into account already at the design stage, because sectioning off and negative pressure affect how the work is carried out and its schedule. A negative result gives documented clearance to proceed normally.
